Service Engineer

Function

Installation projects
  • You will be deployed mainly on safety and security project implementation and after-sales interventions at customers.
  • Depending on your level of experience, more emphasis will be given to either installations or after-sales service.
  • As service engineer, you will be part of the after-hours on-call service.
  • In project implementation, you will work closely with the project leader and ensure a perfect execution of the projects within the given timeframe. In this, you will pay particular attention to ensuring that the entire installation operates effectively to the satisfaction of the customer and carry out comprehensive administrative follow-up and reporting of your activities.
  • At the request of the project leader, you may be assigned daily site management duty for specific projects. This will require you to coordinate the various tasks carried out by the appointed technicians, safeguard your safety and that of the technicians, subcontractors and/or customer, and monitor the quality of the subcontracted work carried out (mainly cabling work).

Service
  • For technical service interventions, you will be part of the Service Desk team. This will require you to ensure the perfect execution of the assigned interventions within the given timeframe. In this, you will pay particular attention to ensuring that the entire installation operates effectively to the satisfaction of the customer and carry out comprehensive administrative follow-up and reporting of your activities. 
  • The Service Desk may, when necessary, also be assigned online service tasks for specific periods or projects. 

Support
  • Based on your technical skills, you will offer technical support to technicians and/or customers and provide user training to the customer when requested.
  • In consultation with your manager, and in accordance with your experience and technical knowledge, you may be asked to organize internal product training for technical colleagues.

Profile

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electromechanical Engineering or Information and Communications Technology (ICT) or equivalent in experience. 
  • You have several years’ experience in the installation and programming of security installations as well as an understanding of ICT technologies.
  • You can provide a police clearance certificate (formerly known as certificate of good conduct) and a type B driving licence.
  • You hold a certificate for installation and maintenance (Tobback Law)
  • A VCA-B or VCA-VOL certificate is an advantage.
  • You speak and write fluent Dutch and French. Knowledge of spoken and written English is an advantage. 
  • You are entirely familiar with MS Office 2010/2013.
  • You are customer-focused, communicative, proactive, a team player and a strong motivator.
  • You demonstrate the necessary level of stress resistance and a keen interest in organization and priority management.
  • You are risk aware and seek out and discuss alternative solutions when they appear necessary.
  • You have a keen interest in security products and have a hands-on approach.
  • You are open to new technologies and ongoing additional training.
  • You have a flexible approach to working hours and travelling and are willing to make an extra effort when required.
